The people mentioned on the list below (going back to 1996) qualified for the State Cross Country Championship. In order for an individual to make the State Championship they need to be in the top 10 individuals not on a qualifying team (roughly top 5% of the athletes who toe the line on qualification day - EMASS). A team has to be one of the top 5 (roughly top 15%) of all the competing teams. These standards are much tougher than other sports.
